Description
OverviewAbout the Club:
Flint Golf Club is steeped in history, and we are proud of our rich and storied past. Over 100-year s old , FGC was founded in 1910 by some of the legends of the auto industry - names you may recognize from history and from some of the streets and buildings in the Flint area: J. Dallas Dort, Albert Champion, Walter P. Chrysler, William S. Ballenger, Edwin Atwood, Charles Stewart Mott, Arthur G. Bishop, Alfred Sloan and William Durant. Our crown jewel, a classic 18-hole walkable golf course built on 127 acres in the heart of Flint that opened for play in 1919 , was designed by world famous golf course architect Willie Park Jr., winner of the Open Championship in 1887 and 1889. G olfers can find themselves almost sent back in time to experience what was recently voted the most scenic golf course in Genesee County . Our course record holder is the legendary Sam Snead.
In addition to our amazing and historic course , Flint Golf Club features a large clubhouse, staffed locker room, pro shop offering the latest golf apparel and equipment, and the largest outdoor swimming pool in Genesee County . There are also several social events held throughout the year.
