Pequabuck Golf Club of CT is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Golf Professional to join our team. This position is to replace our Professional who after 17 years at Pequabuck has accepted another position. As Head Professional, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the golf operations and related activities. Your leadership and passion for the game, along with your team, will play a vital role in maintaining the club's reputation and providing exceptional services to members and guests.

Experience Required

PGA membership is preferred. Experienced Head Golf Professional. 

Highly qualified Assistant Golf Professionals are also encouraged to apply.

Extensive experience in a similar role within the golfing industry.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in golf-related software and technology.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Pequabuck is a semi-private golf course. The ideal candidate will be able to balance green fee players along with the approximate 200 dues-paying members. The golf course has around 20,000 to 25,000 annual rounds.

Essential Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all golf operations, cart rentals, bag room, and practice facilities.
• Enforce golf rules and policies to ensure safety and fair play.
• Ensure and monitor a smooth pace of play.
• Work with the golf course Superintendent to ensure golf course playability and aesthetics.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to members, guests, and visitors, ensuring a positive golfing experience.
• Handle inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Act as the face of the club, building and maintaining strong relationships with members and guests.
• Assist with marketing and promoting new memberships.
• Provide lessons and clinics for individuals and groups of all skill levels. 
• Develop and implement training programs, including junior golfers.
• Organize and oversee golf tournaments, events, and leagues, ensuring they run efficiently.
• Handle logistics, set up, and scoring for events.
• Supervise and mentor a support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Conduct training sessions to ensure staff are equipped to deliver exceptional service.
• Manage payroll and schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all golf operations.
• Manage the pro shop, including inventory control, merchandising, and product selection.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked shop with golf equipment, apparel, and accessories at competitive prices.
• Handle customer transactions, including cash and credit.
• Contribute to budgeting and financial goals for the golf program.

Benefits

Competitive compensation package includes a base salary of $60,000 to $80,000 and many other additional income opportunities which include the Pro shop and proceeds from inside and outside tournaments plus lessons. Support to maintain your PGA certification is also included.
