Job Summary
This position involves working as part of a technical deployment team to support the installation, maintenance, testing, diagnosis, and repair of computer systems, electronic security systems, surveillance and access control systems, and related network equipment. The Installation Technician II plays a key role in ensuring the proper setup and operation of complex electronic and computer-based systems.
Daily responsibilities include installing computer software and operating systems, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining security system and network infrastructures. The role also involves working with wiring, cables, and low-voltage circuits; reading schematics and technical drawings; assembling and installing video and data communication systems; and applying electrical theory to identify and resolve system issues. Hands-on fieldwork such as climbing ladders, constructing mounts, and performing physical installation tasks may also be required.
The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards and requires accurate documentation of all activities, including logbooks, expense reports, and project updates. Ongoing technical training is encouraged to maintain and enhance technical proficiency.
Requirements
Key Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a technical training program or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical or electronic systems installation.
Minimum of 36 months of construction, electrical, or technical experience.
Strong understanding of basic electrical theory (voltage, amperes, and ohms).
Proficiency in using hand and power tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Experience installing electrical components, computer systems, and network infrastructure.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electronic and computer-based systems.
Commitment to safety procedures and attention to detail in all work activities.
