Description
Marketing Professional in Houston, TX, who will lead marketing initiatives and support business development for a professional services firm. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, at least four years of experience (marketing or PR/ad agency experience is a plus), and strong skills in design software like Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint. This position will handle a variety of tasks, including managing social media, creating marketing collateral, writing client alerts, managing the firm's website, supporting events, and assisting with the creation of a marketing plan.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Marketing and communications: Create marketing collateral (e.g., newsletters, presentations, social media content), manage the firm's social media presence, and write for various media.
- Website and e-marketing: Update and maintain the firm's website, manage email campaigns, and track performance metrics.
- Business development: Assist attorneys in creating business development plans, identifying thought leadership opportunities, and supporting industry award submissions.
- Event support: Assist with client events, including logistics and e-marketing system updates.
- Strategic planning: Help create a 3–5-year marketing plan for the firm.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: Minimum of four years of related experience; law firm or professional services marketing experience and PR/ad agency experience are a plus.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Familiarity with marketing technology and automation software is also required.
- Soft skills: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in law firm or professional services marketing and will bring strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, tone, and accuracy. They are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, collaborative mindset and sound judgment are essential, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs. Familiarity with litigation or disputes practices with an understanding of the business drivers and client expectations in these areas is strongly preferred. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with CRM platforms or marketing technologies is a plus. Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills are critical, as is a growth mindset that embraces continuous improvement and teamwork.
