Description
JOB SUMMARY
A highly visible civilian position responsible for remotely operating unmanned systems in support of the agency’s Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. This position is primarily responsible for flying unmanned systems in response to calls for service, providing real-time situational awareness to deputies and first responders. Additional responsibilities include utilizing advanced technology and systems to assist public safety personnel, and efficiently and effectively responding remotely to public safety incidents throughout the county. The position may also be utilized during disasters, deployments, or other critical incidents requiring advanced technology, including support for preplanned operations and events. EOE/ADA
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES
High School Equivalent (Diploma or GED General Equivalency Diploma) required. FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) license required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire and must be maintained accordingly. Experience with unmanned systems in a public safety or commercial setting is preferred. Experience in Law Enforcement is preferred. Experience and familiarity with public safety related technology is preferred. This position requires a Valid Florida Driver’s License. Unescorted CJIS Clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.

The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:
Sit up to 7 hours per day
Stand up to 8 hours per day unaided
Walk up to 8 hours per day
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Occasionally bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist.

20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)
Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)
Ability to work shift work
Ability to work in hazardous conditions
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Ability to make use of hand/eye coordination to be able to operate small parts and assemblies
