Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 1300 Terra Bella Avenue, #200, Mountain View, CA 94043 (Santa Clara County). Telecommuting position. May work from anywhere in the US.
Job Duties: Build data pipelines to power Machine Learning models. Lead the design and implementation to build data pipelines to power Machine Learning models and analytics, including data collection, warehousing, segmentation, validation, and normalization. Drive technical direction and architectural decisions in collaboration with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams. Develop and maintain backend services on AWS and GCP and building and robust and scalable infrastructure to support the needs of internal and external users. Oversee end-to-end development of data pipelines—from concept and prototyping to production deployment—with a focus on reliability and maintainability. Responsible for building, testing, and deploying cloud-based software in a continuous delivery environment and identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues. Troubleshoot production issues and remain up to date on relevant technologies, industry standards and trends for the purpose of identifying potential implementation to further improve products and practices. Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis, driving long-term fixes and system hardening initiatives. Own and drive critical system components with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Establish and promote engineering best practices across the team, including code quality, testing, observability, and documentation.

Requirements/Special Skills: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in software engineering with Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.
In the alternative, employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of experience in software engineering with Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience must include:
1. Two (2) years of software development experience in object-oriented languages (such as Java or Python).
2. One (1) year of experience with SQL/noSQL databases, such as DynamoDB, or similar.
3. One (1) year of experience with Microservices architecture.
4. One (1) year of experience with containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
5. Two (2) years of experience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).
6. Two (2) years of experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
