We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with experience managing both Windows and Linux environments. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, security, and performance of enterprise systems while providing reliable technical support and implementing best practices across diverse IT environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar).
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Linux user/group permissions.
- Implement and manage data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Apply operating system patches, updates, and maintain system tools and utilities.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, generating regular status and error reports.
- Develop and maintain detailed procedures for installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Manage and verify security controls, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Execute system upgrades, configuration changes, and data archival as needed.
- Collaborate with network, application, and database teams to ensure system availability and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotational basis.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Windows Server (20162022) and Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Experience managing Active Directory and Linux user/group environments.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/S).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Understanding of DoD system hardening, security compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (minimum).
- Must meet DoD 8570/8140 IAT-II certification requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including possible OCONUS assignments.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, SCCM, Puppet, Chef).
- Understanding of ITIL processes and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) version 6.0.
