Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and professional services firm has an immediate opportunity for a Structural Engineer in our Florida Division. Benesch is a nationally recognized professional services firm that offers transportation planning and engineering services and is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting firms in the country by Engineering News Record.
Our Florida offices specialize in roadway, traffic and public involvement and provide exceptional services to the Florida DOT as well as county and local agencies. We are looking to hire an experienced Structural Engineer to work on structural design projects throughout Florida. Based out of our Daytona Beach, Orlando or Jacksonville, Florida office, the ideal candidate will hold a PE License in Florida and have FDOT experience.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Performing basic analysis of project elements
Performing load development and designing calculations of project elements and checking work
Preparing organized structural calculations
Designing and drafting structural elements and details
Developing task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
Performing tasks on schedule and within budget as assigned
Working independently under the guidance of a Project Manager
Qualifications include:
BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline
Florida PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
Minimum of 5 years of structural design experience
Experience with FDOT preferred
Excellent communication and client relation skills.
Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing Microstation
Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
Ability to perform complex analysis and design
Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
