The Quality Technician works closely with the Production and Engineering Departments to ensure quality of all incoming materials and components, work in progress, and finished product. They are responsible for checking physical attributes, verifying dimensions, perform quality tests, using independent judgement, and clearly document findings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes and assists with management of our ISO Quality System, including compliance, training, corrective actions, and process improvements.
Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001.
Conducts “quality checks” on the production floor to insure that product, labels and documents are accurate.
Inspects, identifies root causes and documents internal rejections in the Quality Management Log. Initiates Corrective Action Responses (CARs)
Compile, track and analyze data and reports on any identified patterns or trends.
Collect, track, and report monthly objectives data
Participates in weekly quality meetings
Participate and document internal ISO and customer audits and other quality assurance activities, and implement appropriate corrective actions
Apply independent judgement to determine if material or components meet quality standards
Conduct and maintain in-process inspection of materials and products to ensure product quality
Investigate and manage customer complaints and non-conformance issues initiate preventative actions
Write, review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required
Generate inspection checklists
Assist with the generation of IQOQ documentation
Assist and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs) efforts
Responsible for ISO document management system
Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.

Must be able to be on feet/walk up to 6 hours per day
High school diploma required
Minimum 8 years Quality Management Systems
Experience with Microsoft Office
Requires high attention to detail
Must be self-motivated
Work under minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills – able to plan and prioritize multiple tasks/projects
Detail oriented and strong communication skills
Excellent listening, interpretation and reasoning skills required
Be able to use precision measurement tools and extrapolate results effectively
