RTI’s Division for Research on Healthcare Value, Equity, and the Lifespan (REHVEAL) is a project-based division for RTI that conducts basic and applied research, evaluation, implementation, and technical assistance to governments, foundations, and commercial clients aimed at addressing challenging issues in health care finance and quality for populations that include the aging and disabled, end-of-life patients, and at-risk populations such as children and adolescents, low-income patients, and the uninsured. We are looking for a dynamic candidate for a division that is continuously growing and evolving as it tackles key domestic health care issues.
REHVEAL is looking for a results-oriented Quality Assurance professional with demonstrated experience driving change to work closely with Division and project leadership to establish, implement, and improve quality management systems and processes across a broad range of technical projects for a key client, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Projects range in size from less than $1 million to more than $100 million and involve both qualitative and quantitative social science research, including complex analyses of health care claims and administrative data. This position offers you opportunities for developing leadership skills, a position of high visibility in a recognized area of importance in REHVEAL and RTI more broadly, the challenge of improving quality management practices for a diverse group of CMS projects, and the chance to impact our organization and projects that address issues of vital national importance and affect the lives of millions of patients. In addition to reporting to and working closely with Division leadership and CMS project leaders, you will also interface with and receive support from our business unit Quality Office staff.
Job Responsibilities to include, but not be limited to:
Oversee development and implementation of quality assurance and quality control practices across CMS projects.
Investigate root causes of quality management issues, recommend and implement corrective actions, and assess impacts of actions taken.
Work with cross-organizational teams to develop processes and author standards, guidelines, best practice documents, and other resources to support quality management.
Provide expertise for quality and quality management systems requirements.
Lead internal audit group to assess compliance with requirements and identify good practices and areas for improvement
Support regular monitoring and reporting of quality measures and quality program activities.
Lead teams to develop and deliver training and seminars on project management and quality management topics. Provide regular communications and outreach through newsletters and RTI collaboration channels (e.g., Yammer, SharePoint, and Teams).
Develop, maintain, and support the quality systems infrastructure within REHVEAL (e.g., quality management plans, checklists, SOPs, process diagrams, etc.).
This role can be based out of either our RTP, NC office OR our office in Waltham, MA.
Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of overall experience, or a Master’s degree and 9+ years of overall experience. (16+ years overall experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
Demonstrated ability to drive change through defining scope and attaining objectives in the face of ambiguity, challenges, and competing priorities.
Specific experience with quality management and/or project management within a professional services and/or scientific organization.
Knowledge and experience applying project management best practices to drive improvements in project consistency and performance.
Knowledge of and experience with quality management techniques in a research environment.
Ability to analyze, define, improve and document business processes.
Self-motivated and ability to manage time working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and oral communication skill
Desired Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with technologies (software, hardware, and database management systems) for facilitating project management and quality management.
Certifications or specialized training related to quality management systems and practices (for example, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) and project management (for example, Project Management Professional).
Knowledge and understanding of client (CMS) needs and expectations.
A proactive approach to collaboratively solving problems and setting priorities.
Experience analyzing business needs, developing solutions and writing business requirements.
