Orthopaedic Associates of Maine – Ambulatory Surgery Center

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking a CST to join our high-performing Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team. Our ASC team works collaboratively to support our surgeons and ensure each patient’s experience is efficient, comfortable, and successful. This is a full-time role working 36 hours/week.
What You’ll Do:
As a key member of our surgical team, you will:
Prepare and set up for scheduled procedures with the necessary instrumentation and implants
Assist surgeons at the sterile field, anticipating needs and ensuring seamless workflows
Support circulator staff and help maintain a safe, patient-focused environment
Follow strict aseptic technique and uphold surgical standards in accordance with AORN guidelines
Participate in time-out procedures and intraoperative safety checks
Position patients, apply tourniquets, and handle surgical specimens appropriately
Assist in patient transport and maintain readiness for upcoming cases
What We’re Looking For:
High School diploma or GED required
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Current CST certification (NBSTSA) and BLS certification required
Previous experience in a hospital or outpatient OR setting strongly preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized
Ability to work independently while excelling as part of a team
