- Simulation Learning Center Operations Manager
Description
The Simulation Learning Center Operations Manager provides comprehensive technical and operational support for the School of Health Sciences clinical simulation suites and skills labs. This role is responsible for the day-to-day readiness of healthcare training environments, ensuring that all simulation equipment, manikins, and computer hardware/software are functional and optimized for student learning. The manager plays a vital role in facilitating the set-up, management, and organization of supplies, technology, and support for faculty/student teaching and learning in the simulation center.
Requirements
1. Simulation & Technical Operations
Scenario Execution: Set up, program, test, and assist in implementing simulation scenarios in collaboration with faculty, including trial runs to identify technical adjustments.
Equipment Maintenance: Prepare, sanitize, and maintain high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and medical equipment such as IV pumps, ventilators, and defibrillators.
Moulage: Apply simulated injuries (moulage) to manikins and standardized patients to enhance realism.
Troubleshooting: Learn and operate and troubleshoot complex AV recording systems, microphones, and simulation management software. Facilitate training and support for faculty and students during sim and open lab.
2. Lab Management & Safety
Environment Readiness: Organize and restock medical supplies; rearrange simulation bays to optimize workflow and maintain "hospital-ready" environments.
Inventory & Procurement: Maintain detailed inventory records and coordinate with the Director of Nursing to order and restock supplies.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all lab activities comply with university policies and governmental safety regulations.
Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary contact for equipment manufacturers regarding service contracts, warranties, calibration requirements and repairs.
3. Instruction & Outreach Support
Technical Guidance: Assist faculty with the proper use of equipment as appropriate.
Event Coordination: Assist with tours, community outreach, and admission/recruiting initiatives such as summer camps and open house events.
Documentation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and digital manuals for organization of the simulation center.
